How to adjust the neckband for the pattern Jeanne

list In Alterations & Pattern hackings On

Unfortunatly, there is no magic method for calculating a neckband length. Each fabric and neckline shape needs a different band. The neckband pattern for Jeanne has a lot of markings to help you during sewing and it also makes it a lot easier to adjust if needed. Always baste your neckband with a long stitch before sewing it for real, it's usefull to give a preview of the final product while it is still easy to unpick the neckband.(Unless unpicking a serged seam or a zigzag stitch in knit fabrics is one of your favorite sport ;')

If you need to adjust your neckband, follow the tutorial above.

Let's say your neckband is gaping at the front but laying flat at the back. This means your neckband is too long at the front and you'll need to adjust this part on your pattern. Cut along the center front line, separating your pattern piece in two. Cut the desired lenght on each side of the center front (most of the time just a few millimeters are enough). Tape them back in place.

Voilà!
