My wrap Jazz romper

Today I’m sharing a Jazz jumpsuit I’ve worn almost weekly since i made it. What often happens with my patterns is that I need to give them a personal timeout post-release. After months of obsessively thinking about them, they are often the last thing I want to sew once I have some spare time. Such was NOT the case with Jazz ;-)
I’m kind of obsessed with the wrap pattern hacking I posted last week for the Jazz jumpsuit pattern and I had to make one for myself.
I used a classic ikat I got from Anna Ka bazaar. It is 100% cotton but wrinkles nicely like linen. The fabric is surprisingly soft; ikats tend to have a slightly rustic weave which means they aren’t as structured and crisp as say, cotton shirting. I was pretty squeezed for yardage so I did my best to balance out the print without obsessing too hard over it. I look like a giant on this picture but trust me, I'm not, this chair is SO tiny!
I may go as far as to say it is my dream playsuit; perfectly high waisted and with enough width and flare through the hips, a decent V-neckline... and so, so comfy!
Tomorrow I'll show another jazz jumpsuit I have made, stay tuned!
