Pattern hack: the Partner Pinafore Part 2

When I was dreaming up pattern hacks for my new Partner overalls this was the first design I sketched. How can I not add a pinafore hack to this overalls design? Thank you Michèle for making this dream come true! This pattern hack is very simple to achieve and it can be easily customized for your preferences, please follow this blog post to hack the paper pattern first. 

Michèle made this version in a corduroy from Cousette. 

Hardware is from A&A patrons.

Line the B' pocket leaving the outside edge open. 

Follow step 4 and 5 of the pattern instructions.

Line the pocket A’ leaving a 4 cm opening to turn right side out later.

Follow step 7 and 8 of the pattern instructions.

Topstitch the pockets entrances following step 9.

For the back pocket G follow step 10 to 12.

Topsttich the back pocket on the back left skirt following step 13 and 14.

Topstitch the B' front pocket.

Sew the right side of the front skirt to the right back skirt following step 20, serge seams together and press them towards the back and topstitch. Pin and topsttich the pocket A’ and follow steps 23 and 24.

Sew the backs skirts right sides together stopping 1 cm under the slit.

Serge seams together stopping where the slit starts.

Clip the the right seam allowance.

Press the top seam towards the left and the slit' seams open.

Press the left seam 1 cm towards the wrong side of the fabric to hide the raw edge. 

Right side facing you, topsttich the left seam allowance from top to bottom, this will also secure the fold.

Wrong side facing you, serge the right seam allowance.

Press the right seam allowance towards the left and fold 1 cm under the left seam allowance.

Fold the skirt following the center back seam and topsttich the fold.

Unfold, and place the right side of the slit under the left topsttiching. Topsttich to fix the right side under the left side.

Right side facing you, topsttich to secure the top of the slit.

Sew the left side of the skirt follwing step 27 and serge.

Topstitch following step 28. 

Hem the skirt by folding the raw edge 1,5 cm towards the wrong side, press, repeat and topstitch in place.

Voilà, to finish sewing your pinafore follow the pattern instructions starting from step 32.
