My wrap Jazz jumpsuit + dolman sleeves

list In Articles On

Today I’m sharing another Jazz wrap jumpsuit I made using the dolman sleeve tutorial and wrap hack.

I was scrolling through Instagram a while back when an Ace&jig ad popped out at me; I always loved the way they mix different fabric patterns and colors. I’ve been meaning to make a bi-color wrap jumpsuit version of Jazz for ages, so I quickly started plotting a way to recreate ace&jig magic.

First up was finding the right fabrics. I knew I wanted geometric compositions. Something I could wear everyday, not too clowny, and after posting about it on Instagram, it was Anna Ka baazar to the rescue. Somebody saw my post and told me they had a lot of stripe fabrics I could play with. I went straight to their website and ordered some beautiful linen from Merchant and Mills and some Ikat I used for my Jazz playsuit.

After I received the fabrics, I knew I had to do it right away in order not to procrastinate. I'm always postponing selfish sewing because I have something more important to do for Ready to sew.

The linen I ordered is more structured than what I recommand on the instruction booklet.  I knew I loved Jazz in a drapey tencel, but what does a loose fitting, wide-legged jumpsuit look when it’s made with something a little more crisp? Turns out, something good BUT the leg was a little too voluminous for my taste. I had to take off a few centimeters from the width but the ease and comfort remain.

The final result is stylish and cozy. It has a 70’s  vibe that I love. I wasn't sure about my fabric compositions until I wore the jumpsuit. My boyfriend loves it and the grocer too ;-)

So, what do you think, is it as magic as Ace&jig? And would you rock a bi-color Jazz jumpsuit like this?

Magnifique ! J'adore ! Je viens juste de commander le patron, et j'attends mes planches A0 imprimées avec impatience... Il a l'air vraiment top ce patron Jazz.
