Shorts or culottes with elasticated waist, and curved patch pockets. Joanne has curved back seam and 2 waistband options: either with 2 channeled elastics and a small ruffle on the top or with 3 narrow channeled elastics.

FABRIC:
Lightweight woven fabric with drape: polyester or wool crepe, lightweight rayon and linen blends, Tencel. Avoid thick fabric as it would create too much bulk at the waist. Note you can make the shorts with a knit fabric. Pick a lightweight French terry.
YARDAGE:
- Culottes: 200 x 140 cm
- Shorts: 100 x 140 cm
NOTIONS:
- Classic waistband: 3m elastic, 1cm wide
- Paperbag waistband: 2m elastic, 1cm wide
